A forest that existed first in the mind.

Bosque Secreto existed in my head long before it existed in the world. Before the land, the cabin, the first trail.

Years ago, walking through mountains in Southeast Asia, I had a déjà vu. Rolling hills, sunsets full of colour, humidity in the air, that green that gets into everything. It was Colombia's Coffee Region, but on the other side of the world. There I understood that luxury lived in the enjoyment of simple things: showering under the sun, the light, the sound of nature.

I was too young. I didn't have the money, or the land, or the moment. But an idea settled in: someday, to create a place that would make others feel what I had felt.

Over the years I came to know more corners of the world: ancient paths of Mesoamerica, Egyptian gardens, bungalows between jungles and beaches, cabins in the woods. The best ones had something in common, and it wasn't what had been added — it was what they'd had the prudence not to touch. The silence. The water. The shade of a tree at the exact right hour.

Half a life went by until love gave the idea a purpose: for work and home to be the same thing. Then the name appeared. Bosque Secreto — the Secret Forest. A refuge, a retreat, a childhood memory. A place to find yourself and fall in love.

The pandemic gave the final push: returning to the Coffee Region, rediscovering its beauty and trading the goal of an apartment in the capital for the stubbornness of searching for a piece of mountain. And one day, wandering rural roads, a true native forest appeared, hidden at the end of a road. As if name and place were soulmates finally meeting.

I closed my eyes and leapt. I set out, learned things I had no idea about and, despite earthly struggles and the traps of the mind, Bosque Secreto went from my head into life.

Today the love is a different one: self-love, and love for nature. And time has shown me that Bosque Secreto isn't only a physical place. It's also a threshold inward. Because we all carry a secret forest: a deep, living space of colours, lights and shadows, which we choose whether or not to enter.

This dream is now real thanks to friends, neighbours, artisans, designers, builders and wonderful people who put their craft and their care into it. Only one invitation remains: come discover the secret forest each of us carries within.

Bosque Secreto isn't just a destination. It's an invitation to discover that inner space of calm, memory and beauty we so rarely enter. Outside, and within.
